How to Choose a DJ
When you have that special event in your life coming up, whether it is a wedding, engagement, bar / bat mitzvah or birthday drinks, you start to consider things such as venues, caterer, music, guest list, etc., the list goes on! When choosing a DJ, it is important to think about the following things:
• Have a meeting with the DJ prior to the event, this will ensure that you are comfortable on the night with what will be played when
• Ensure that the DJ has a copy of the running sheet
• Make sure all aspects of the running sheet are discussed: e.g. music for background, dance brackets, times of arrival, etc.
• If there is a particular song or songs you would like to hear on the evening, ensure that this has been discussed prior
• Check whether the DJ will be bringing his/her own equipment and/or microphone
• Ask the DJ to view the venue before the event
The above information, I would consider a ‘must do’ and remember one thing…the last thing you want to do on your special occassion is run around making sure everything is going smoothly…that is what you pay someone for!
