When choosing a photographer keep in mind the obvious first - like budget, style and experience. Ask questions such as: How long will it take to get my photos back? Will I get a high res disc of images? BUT don't forget the obvious things: personality is key as you'll be spending the day with them... Professionalism - how do they present themselves? How will they dress on the day?

Communicate your expectations early. Do you want your photographer to blend in and capture candid special moments? Do you prefer a fun photojournalistic style? Or maybe traditional, contemporary, etc? It's your day, so open communication will ensure it happens just the way you have imagined. Also, email samples of photographs you've seen and liked to ensure you're on the same page as to the style you're after - a picture is worth a thousand words.

When the day arrives, enjoy every moment! Relax and let nothing upset you. All of that planning is now paying off, your favourite moments are being captured forever as future memories, exactly the way you want them. Most of all, have fun! Nothing can replace a genuine smile!
