Traditionally, wedding videos have had such a negative stigma attached to them. People immediately associate wedding video with flying angels and exploding hearts. The truth is, your wedding video doesn't need to be cheesy, and we've spent the last 8 years proving that fact.
We pride ourselves on being completely unobtrusive - you're getting married! That is enough!
What we do is capture the love between two people. We understand that very moment that brings you together in union. We know that the less we are involved in your day, the more we see. We don't need fancy camera work, posing or special effects. We're different, we promise.
With the above in mind, we've compiled some tips to help you achieve an artistic and natural wedding video - without the cheese!
1. Choose A Natural Photographer
To a degree, the end result of your wedding video is going to be dictated by your photographer. If you choose a photographer that is quite structured and posy, your video is going to reflect that. This doesn't mean go with a photographer who won't direct you, but it's important to find someone who can offer direction naturally, without making you feel - and look - uncomfortable.
2. Limit Your Locations
You should always go for quality over quantity. It's not about the number of locations you visit. Try not to focus on 'iconic' wedding locations. It's not about the door you're standing in front of, it's about capturing the spirit between the two of you after your married. We've captured some amazing footage when simply going for a walk with a couple, perhaps even stopping for a coffee.
3. Music is 80% of What You See
Music is so important. It's 80% of what you see. It's important to choose music that is timeless and won't date. Sorry, but we won't let you put Ricky Martin 'She Bangs' on your video. We ask for a couple of tracks before we capture your day because music dictates the way we shoot. If you pick something jazzy and upbeat for example, we need to overshoot, so we have something to cut to. Conversely, if you choose something quite slow and ambient, we have to hold our shots a lot longer in frame and linger on the subject.
4. We Don't Need To Be There All Night
Again, it's quality over quantity. We're finding a lot of our couples are choosing to have us stay until just after formalities. The first dance bracket looks the same as the last dance bracket.
5. Price Should Never Dictate Quality
We don't believe that the more you spend means you get a higher quality product. Each wedding video that
C2 creates is a true reflection of you and all the details that made your day special. No two wedding videos are the same, which makes each wedding video unique and truly yours.
Good luck with your planning!!
